The Woodland Sage
In a realm far and distant from our own, An ancient forest lay, its secrets unknown. A world where magic and nature entwined, Its spirits and essence not easily defined. Tales spoke of a wizard old as time, A sage of wisdom, legend sublime. Whose lofty dwelling lay hidden within, The heart of the enchanted wood and its denizens. His silver beard kissed the ground, His ebony robe of stars foretold the way around. He stood guard o'er the critters small, The wise old wizard, the forest's thrall. Each full moon's rise and setting sun, The animals gathered, a fellowship of one. They sensed his magic, his aura of power, And sought his guidance in the darkest hour. Dancing shadows of twilight hues, Painted tales upon his skin, ancient as the news. For countless ages, he had dwelled on this land, Keeper of secrets, neither mortal nor divine he'd stand. To his dwelling, the weary souls ventured, Aching hearts and barren dreams fractured. Under his spell, as they found their reprieve, In the wise old wizard of the forest, they believed. He heard the whispers of secrets untold, The anguished cries of those unwhole. From his earthy abode deep in the woods, He summoned them closer, under leafy hoods. Lifting their heads, he peered into their eyes, Glimpsing their wounds, their heart's cries. Within each soul, he searched for light, A spark yet to be extinguished in their plight. Gentle and kind, he spoke the ancient words, Of healing incantations to comrades and birds. His melodious voice filled the silence of the night, And healing warmth enveloped in moonlight. As they stepped into the circle of trees, Swaying in rhythm with the mystic breeze, The dew-covered leaves shimmered and sighed, A silent witness to their last whispered goodbyes. In that fabled heart of the enchanted wood, The souls found solace, on the very ground they stood. Unburdened by pain and longing no more, Their hearts renewed, their spirits restored. From dawn to dusk, the wise old wizard mended, Shattered dreams, broken hearts attended. Yet in the silence of his own despair, The weight of unending solitude he wore and bear. Perhaps the heart that needed the most healing, Was hidden beneath the wizard's silent feeling. Long had he roamed the forest green, Yet alone among others he had ever been. Guardian, healer, sage of old, The wise old wizard's tale, eternally bold. In the realm of the magical forest he'd stay, Till time shall take him far away. Sing of the forest's undying heart, Of the wise old wizard and his eternal part. In fables and legends, forever he'll dwell, The mystic healer of the forest and its spell.
