Be the River of My Rainless Desert
Be the river of my rainless desert... where the coldest and the wildest wind swept; ah, it took away the harmony of my tunes: once the only comforter of the sand dunes! So far, I have accomplished nothing worthwhile that made me rise above my absent worthiness; there have been precious days wasted in total loneliness: when hope is lost, even faith is trashed in the dirt pile! Be the river of my rainless desert, flood it with your bubbling water; beautiful flowers will bloom in daylight, changing this sadness to laughter! I wander the noisy streets and people sing and cheer, what's the secret to their lasting happiness? I've waited long enough for a simple answer: no silent voice ever makes happy and thrilling sounds! Be the river of my rainless desert, quench my thirst, and I'll bid my farewell to what held me captive for long with endless hurt; I'll sing again on flowery meadows and feel swell!
