My Favourite President
there was something about him that stole the show, his handsome face and eyes had a special glow, from cold war he promised he would find a way, John F Kennedy the 35th president of USA! his slim figure draped in elegant blue suit, his brisk walk displayed a mind that was astute, as youngest president aged forty three, he was from a distinguished family tree! his Harvard education showed in his speech, with his tone, gentle voice, wise words he could reach, all Americans hoping for better days, for a stronger future he would pave new ways. he pulled the country from economic slush, divisive segregation laws he would flush, his brave intervention stopped a major war, he built an economy that would go far! a soldier, a reporter in younger years, a world war two veteran without death fears, he brought America the gift of his charms, setting in enemy camps jealous alarms! he promised to put the first man on the moon, it was his wish that would launch the space age soon, hope grew in every heart, eyes looked to the sky, eager for the day when that rocket would fly! I dread to describe that day in November, every human heart with tears shall remember, when sharp sounds of gunfire stole dear president, I wish time would rewind, erase that moment!
