Zealand

Sparkling clear
And singing low
Free as a migrant
As you go

A ripple here
A current there
An ebb and flow
With an idle air

A twist and turn
And you carry on
Water-borne
And pure as dawn

There’s an air of tranquility in your words John. My take only: I picture someone in a canoe just paddling along off a Danish island or the New Zealand coast. The water’s probably deeper than I’m making it out to be but whatever, wherever, I really enjoyed your poem. Cheers - Gary

Thanks for your thoughts Gary! Love your interpretation! The Zealand River is up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and is what inspired this poem. I visit there often. It’s a peaceful place :)
