Poems unread

Obscure poems that stay unread Words that’re spun in a poet’s head Never been seen floating away Seeking poetic light of day. Words akin to the tumbling rain Surge in, reciting sweet refrain Whence the night is dark and timeless In an abiding quietness. Poems no one has ever heard The solitude of silent words Whispers journeying off somewhere Celestial as silent prayer. As stars saturate sky at night Moon glowing for earthlings delight Scene set for poetic release In dreamland playing hide-and-seek.

Delightful thoughts! Such a sad theme made magical with your words. It does make me sad to think of all the amazing poetry that is never seen or considered, never touching another as poetry is meant to do. I wish I had time to read it all! Xoxo

I agree in dreamland many things surface that we don't allow during the day. Such a beautiful way of saying it dear Beryl. :)

Dear Beryl, your poem is sadly beautiful in the expression of your emotions about unread poems. Especially striking to me was "The solitude of silent words/Whispers journeying off somewhere/Celestial as silent prayer." -wow! Writing poetry can be a bittersweet experience. I feel your soulful words through your smooth poetic finesse. Warmest wishes, my poet friend.. ~Susan

An awesome topic to write about and which happens to all of us at times. Just different strokes for different folks, our taste for a particular write might not appeal to to some, yet to others it will. The heading has a lot to do with it also. Nevertheless, I READ IT SEVERAL TIMES, AS IT IS SO APT. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

A powerful write. I enjoyed reading this write. All poems should be read but are not. All poems should have comments on them but they do not. So many great writers here. Guess time is to blame. Please do Not blame the wonderful writers. Have a blessed/lovely day writing away.........

You are right in a way. Yet there are poets who never reciprocate a comment. What can one do?

Dear Beryl, I think that you've captured the quiet pain and wonder of being a poet so beautifully and the hope that our hidden words might one day find a reader, a heart, or simply peace in dreamland. Loved It! Summer Blessings, Dear Beryl, Daniel

I loved the flow of your rhyme scheme and words, Beryl. Unread poems are rather sad to me. I liked every verse. Well done...faving, hugs, Sara
