The AI Conundrum

AI: panacea or pain? Contest //Sponsored by: Simon Rogerson

Written: August 10, 2025

A whisper born of code and light,
vast potential, a promising sight--
yet twilight sprawl where circuits reign.
Panacea — or pulse of pain?

We hold the key, the spark, the fear,
to pave the way — far and near.

Hi Rowena Many congratulations on winning my AI poetry contest. Your poem was succinct and raised key issues. I head off to Lisbon next week and will be using your poem (fully accredited of course) at the international conference (ETHICOMP2025) I am involved in. Best wishes Simon

A positive take on the AI and the part we play in the direction it takes as it evolves and becomes a blessings or a curse. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us through your mindful poetry, Rowena. Hugs, Bill

I agree...our intent in using AI determines whether pain or panacea. Insightful words, dear Rowena. Have a great week, hugs, Sara

Thank you so much, dear Sara. I truly believe that when we use our tools with compassion and purpose, they can help heal as much as create. Wishing you a blessed week ahead, hugs back to you!

Hi John, I love that you’re wondering “Where will it all end?” — that’s exactly the tension I wanted to capture in my poem The AI Conundrum. It’s about the promise and the risks of AI, and how the future feels uncertain—like a twilight where both hope and caution meet. In the end, maybe there isn’t a single “end,” but a path we create together. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :)
