Dear duke, we are seeing and witnessing so many changes in weather etc and theres so many worrisome consequences because of human acts and ignorance of so many that refuse to pay attention to nature and how she needs kindness. I have one or two poems writtn on this subject. Its ok to have different political opinions but its always good to be kind to nature. And i admire how you respond also to all kinds of comments with so much patience and understanding. Sending you light always

IE, you're making me smile...you're right that people don't have to agree on what to do about it, but the facts point to some serious problems occurring in our environment. Unfortunately, some people just deny and dismiss the facts because of their greed. It's a form of extremism, but they spend a lot of time, effort, and money to foster denial of reality for their own short-term benefit.

Anne-Lise, good point! We never yelled or hit our kids and I get what you are saying. A human mother and parents in general should take time to model and explain appropriate behavior. However, Mother Nature can display a violent side that we need to be very wary of. It largely depends on us and what we do.

Oh how brilliantly you've used personification here, a mother's roar is infinitely spine-chilling! We are her kids, creating nuisance and trying to find refuge by escaping to some other planet, but in the end, everything will meet itself ~ how far can we run... Haya, thanks for this wonderful comment. Yes, our common mother is sending us an important message, There will be no minimizing it or any escape from it despite the fact that the message is inconvenient to our life style. If we'd allow economists and government experts to factor in the true costs of our activities, the preponderance of renewables and use of batteries would explode and make our mother less likely to punish us down the road. We're only seeing the very beginning of the blowback she has in store if we don't change.

Julia Roberts has a big mouth figuratively and literally. Sounds like more climate hysteria to me. Relax people, we’re not all going to die in 10 years. Well, not all of us anyway. You’ve got more chance of dying from an exploding electric battery than any weather event.

Hi Keith...I am truly honored to have you comment on this (no sarcasm intended since you have an opinion worth considering). I agree with you...Julia Roberts literally does have a big mouth. Despite that, let's not dismiss the message in the video. 10 years is a short time scale, and the negative externalities associated with fossil carbon extraction and combustion could easily outweigh the profits we obtain from the oil and plastics industry many times over. You're right...it may not affect our immediate longevity but might impact our descendants in a much more severe manner. Short term profits on a distorted balance sheet often mesmerize those who have limited vision. This would be particularly true of people associated with the fossil fuel industry in some way.

Beryl, you have that right! I remember my dad telling me to change my behavior because it was bothering my mom (and he couldn't deal with it). The ultimate wrath of my mom would always seem like something awful to everyone in the family. I like the way you rhymed your comment! Smiles!
