Seems Like Yesterday MYSTIC
I knew back then
I was charming and handsome,
confident as I dined and wined
with my classmates.
Then you walked in—
my handsomeness faded
before the glow of your beauty.
Twenty years seem like yesterday;
your beauty and my charm combined
to gift us three radiant children.
We were selfish
with our good looks~
we showered them on our children,
and the world bows quietly
to their elegance.
That first day we met
still feels like yesterday—
a Saturday then, a Saturday now.
Only difference: that day was December,
this one September.
Your shyness never changed,
nor did mine.
We read our first book
from the same chapter of innocence—
a blind man led a blind woman,
and in our Eden we found
the courage to begin.
I gave you the apple,
not you me.
So no serpent tempted me,
only my stubborn desire.
God bless that day—
a virgin me met a virgin you,
and our first deflowerment
crowned us mum and dad.
