Poetry Lights the Way
Poetry keeps me sane, as darkness comes again
ravaged by demon thoughts, poetry is my friend
Daylight has its moments, but nighttime evil reigns
poetry helps decipher, what’s real within the pains.
Patience falls away, as anger fills the soul
shadows lurk inside, wanting all control
I try not to succumb, to the darkness ever deep
I write down all the words, cause poetry helps me sleep.
It’s a seesaw of emotions, a battle every day
nights are ever hard, but poetry lights the way
So, while I have it in me, poems I will write
in the hope all the darkness, doesn’t win the fight.
