One Existential Frost

The clock with wings goes up and down.
She sleeps only with backwards time.
The glass circle's bridle around
Her fishtail eyes where dark abounds.
Within the floor, she feels the pound —
Grandfather's face in nighttime shines.
The clock with wings goes up and down.
She sleeps only with backwards time.

Paige, this feels like a dream caught mid-turn--ghostly, intimate, and quietly disorienting. “The clock with wings goes up and down” is such a stunning metaphor for warped memory and time’s strange grip. And those fishtail eyes--uncanny and mesmerizing. I love the mystery laced into every line.

In physiognomy, fishtails in the corner of one's eyes means trouble with relationships. I am glad to explain! :) Thanks for asking- I hope you get it now.
