Brewing Moods At Coffee Time - Cinquain - Cinqku

slow sip
creamy mud skin
under heartbeats speeding —
my taste echoing words of heat
airs lift

swallow
morning kiss
on bright mug's brim,
smokescreen operation
breathless

Paige, this is deliciously atmospheric--like sipping emotion through steam. “Creamy mud skin / under heartbeats speeding”--what a tactile, almost seductive image. I love how you’ve brewed intimacy and mood into such a compact form. These lines linger like the scent of strong coffee.

Wonderful imagery, Paige! I can smell the coffee. Love the line about the kiss on the rim of the cup! I see you too have taken a little hiatus! So glad you are back. Hope all is well. Blessings!

I love your fresh metaphors and word combos. They are unique and refreshing to read, much like the "coffee" you describe even though I suspect something deeper is going on. Love your style.

The poem has a delightful rhythm and melody. Similar to that first flawless sip—rich, velvety, and long-lasting.
