Alone in the Cemetery

"...Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. [7] Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." ~Ecclesiastes 12:6-7 KJV Bible

he isn't there... i remind myself again must keep from digging and digging... and climbing in with him "absent from the body... present with the Lord" i repeat this Biblical mantra... my mental shield and sword it hurts me so to see his grave... so lonely in our cemetery a gentle meadow close to home... the peaceful plot where he's buried when it is our time, my husband and i... we wish to be cremated our remains mixed with soil and seed... and thus to grow and life created two stately trees, that reach up high... our limbs~ his head stone shade and pointing to our heavenly home... and to our baby boy... not in his grave.

A deeply moving poem that carry so much love, grief, and hope. Love your emotions. Death is hard to bear at times. There’s something profoundly peaceful in your vision of two stately trees, standing as both guardians and symbols of eternity. Best for a win. The line, "not in his grave," is especially striking. It holds such truth and longing—acknowledging both absence and presence in the same breath. I feel honored that you shared this with me.

I'm very glad to have touched another with my writing and my pain... it does bond people in such strong ways. Thank you for letting me know how you were affected. And the interpreting of the poem is so beautiful! Xoxo

OKAY, I was cruising along enjoying beautiful lines and then the last line took me down. I am going to view this as fiction, for many readers it's often assumed & not true. Don't want this to be true. It's a beautiful, emotive write with a dramatic ending. So, there's my reaction to your poem. Only. Don't want this to be true, don't want it to be true ... CayCay

Yess as long as we keep seeking that truth... don't bury our heads in the sand. Hunters death caused me to ask some life changing questions and, surprisingly, I found answers! Not only faith but reality. Science will agree with Christian scriptures everything if we divide the word rightly. It's been an awesome journey! I'm no where near the finish line though! ;) xoxo

Here we are, hugging again. Your comment just warmed me up. You may want to read my entry - it will give you potential for growth even if growth is in a different direction. AND BECAUSE Hunter/you inspired it. We all have to grow our own growth, to me, the only mistake is avoidance. Enjoyed our time

I'm so glad you share your beliefs with me, I'm always interested and willing to listen and grow. Poetry is a beautiful soul connector... empathy is sadly lacking in society but poetry revives this reaching hand. Xoxo

I came over to hug you. I simply can't imagine the pain. God definitely gave you a challenging karma. So much that destroys our joy, breaks our hearts, carves scars of pain, is intended that we will then call His name. All is a catalyst to beautiful soul growth, and so very, very emotional wrenching. These are my beliefs as obtained thru my own pain. With empathy, I appreciate your journey and that assigned to Hunter's soul growth. Ah man ... CayCay

Awww... I'm sorry it's a sad poem... but it had is hopeful side with life after death. Unfortunately, yes, is about my son, Hunter. Is been several years so the pain isn't as raw as it was and I can write about him. Thank you for reading it and commenting CayCay! I always enjoy your comments. <3<3xo
