The Royal Talented Engagement

Being the first Saturday in April, everything seemed to be going smoothly for Hal and Dale as they wrestled with the mania happening on the day’s agenda. Hearing the definition fast and firm for their track, confidence comforted the pair that their staged event would be a tremendous success.

“Has the maiden with special weight Gloria’s Princess arrived yet to this place?” A sarcastic inquiry came from somebody wearing the name tag General Public.

“Yes, of course,” Hal answered, “she is just getting her picture taken in the winner’s circle and should be at the Millenium Park show doing her song and dance.”

Watching the customer leave, Hal stared into his partner’s eyes, “whose Gloria’s Princess?”

“Royalty, Gloria has under a talent contract,”

“Oh, yes Gloria the go to person if we need buzzing pazazz,” Dale concluded.

Suddenly, the office door swung opened, “All hail, the Princess is here,” Gloria announced.

“Uh, check was mailed yesterday,” Hal replied.

“And your goods have arrived despite the prerequisite agreement stating you two will not be out of the money,” Gloria’s entrance proclaimed.

Walking passed filing cabinets housing all the newspaper clippings, the Princess came into the small workspace, “do you know why I am spansive winner and not expansive?”

“Why?” The two started blushing.

“Besides not needing any wires to charge me up,” the Princess explained, “I do not have any exes.”

To accommodate the singing crown maiden who had the option to claim, Hal and Dale decided to change her performance track to Tapeta.

“Who is over, using the Tapeta stage?” Hal asked.

“Right now, it’s Jerry’s turn, he is the recent winner,” Dale clarified.

“Is that Jerry Sterling,” the Princess politely interjected.

“Yes, lead singer in the band Sterling Harmony,” Hal added, “they play the Millenium Park place, a lot.”

“He is nicknamed, the ‘American Crusader’ for his show,” Dale continued.

But the Princess, very educated, knew Jerry Sterling’s true history and the tragic reason he ended up out of the money during the time the local talented crooner was known as “Mr. American.”

Wasn’t there a steward's inquiry before Jerry organized ‘Sterling Harmony’?

“They saw nothing,” Hal sadly reported about the financial fiasco.

Later that evening while sitting on the Cutler Bay dock enjoying a steak Gloria reflected upon when Jerry went behind enemy lines and returned a winner. Apparently being an anglophile, translated means great lover of England, a disturbed notification stated, ‘the King’s fortune declared bankrupt,’ ‘out of the money.’ Jerry then devised a plan while studying in Edinburgh to bring a warm atmosphere and pleasant tranquil living conditions, producing a legitimate reason to spend hard earned work checks.

“I will call it Operation Dunedin,” Jerry presented the message allowing scholars to add their two cents, “and the show will bring a sunshine attitude."

As the evening’s hour matured, Gloria paid the check and ventured back inside through the social lounge where the Princess and Jerry’s Sterling Harmony band jazzed up the crowd. “O Captain,” she hollered during a show break,

Jerry laughed, “Gloria have I taken your Princess from you?”

“No,” Gloria responded, “you have an allowance and claiming option, playing the giant game in this place, is fine.”

Continuing the exiting path, Gloria bumped into Hal and Dale, “you two are winners I tell ya, this whole plant has a bright future,” she commented when a server handed her a takeout bag.

“Thank you for helping us make it work, you know,” Hal started, “if you have too many slim slow slider sandwiches,”

“You be out of the money,” Dale finished laughing.

“Well fed is a good excuse for being broke,” Gloria raised her vocal tone realizing there were ten more steaks on the menu.
