The Curse of the Blue Lake Lady

There was once a very beautiful princess who lived in a castle. She was the only daughter of the King and Queen. She grew up with almost everything in her hand and became a little different while growing up. The lady wanted to live in a different noble place when she turned eighteen. Her wish was granted because her parents care for her so much. The King and Queen raised her not as royal parents, but as loving parents. In a manor where the lady spent her early years as an independent princess, some things seemed to go wrong. The lady's decisions were often disliked by the servants because of her carelessness. "Just follow whatever I tell you to do!" the lady yelled at the servants and maids. Everyday, the picture inside the noble place stayed the same. The lady is always grumpy because she wanted to have a brother and a sister in her life. She has so many cousins of her age, but her cousins live in a castle a thousand miles away. One day, the lady asked her servants to accompany her in the nearest lake that they can find. They reached the Blue Lake and the young lady swam there. She had a great time and enjoyed watching the birds flying around. She also saw hares and squirrels playing up and down the trees. In that lake, she found a luminous gem, held it for a while and threw it away in the woods. The lady got tired of swimming alone and decided to go back to the manor. The next day, the lady went back to the Blue Lake. She said to her servants, "Stay not too close from me because I want some privacy." While swimming, the lady was attracted to a very beautiful flower floating in the lake. She tried to grab it. The flower was floating farther and farther from her and yet she tried to follow it. She didn't notice that she is already too far from her servants. And the servants didn't notice the lady too. The lady vanished in the lake and all servants were anxious as to how they are going to explain it to the King and Queen. For many nights and days, all the servants and guards were dispersed throughout the land. The King and Queen were so depressed about what happened to their lone daughter. Months passed and the lady has not returned. In a virgin forest, about a hundred miles from the lady's manor, a young boy was playing with his mirror facing the sun. He turned around and saw a lady near the river bed. The boy asked the lady why she is alone. The lady said, "I was lost." The boy continued, "You have a very nice dress, but it's dirty. I can help you change your clothes if you want to come with me?" "Yes, thank you." said the lady. The boy asked the lady where she came from. The lady replied, "I can't remember everything. I was following a very beautiful flower floating in the Blue Lake then I fell asleep." "And what happened to your face?" asked the boy. The lady was speechless and shattered when the boy handed over his mirror to the lady. The once beautiful lady sighed. "I can help you recall everything!" said the boy to the lady. The lady was convinced and they went to an old man's house. This old man stood as the boy's foster parent since birth. The old man said to the lady, "I know who you were, but that's not important now. You need to know and learn some things in life that royalty cannot buy." The old man continued, "You were cursed by one of your servants because you were mean in your early life." "How can I go back to my previous life?" asked the lady. "You can only return if you can find the gem that you once threw away." "I can't remember everything and where I was when I threw the gem away." the lady averred. "Nobody can remember everything when nobody cares for anything." said the old man. For many years, the lady spent her days with the boy and the old man. One afternoon, an old woman visited the old man"s house. The lady was scared because the old woman was ugly. She was more frightened because she was alone when the old woman arrived. "I am looking for my friend, an old man." said the old woman. "He is not here right now, but he will be back in a very short while." "Don't be afraid!" said the old woman. "I will not hurt you." "Why are you here?" asked the lady. "I am here because you need something." the old woman replied. "And what is it that you know that I would need from you?" asked the lady. The old woman opened her palm and said, "This is the gem that you threw away in the woods many years ago. And this gem is me!..." "I now remember everything in my pasts. And I was sorry for everything that I did." "Yes," said the old woman. "And don't worry, you are safe now." "Why?" asked the lady. "Because you have changed!" The old woman continued, "Don't lose this gem ever if you want to keep your beautiful face! If you will lose this gem again, your face will become ugly again, and maybe forever more." The lady expressed her gratitude to the old woman and promised that she will listen to everybody from now on. The lady was able to return to the manor and to her loving parents in the castle. All the servants, maids and guards in the castle were overjoyed because the lady has now transformed into a real princess.
