Halloween Night in the City of Harbor Town

Harbor Town is small city with a population of about 1000 people. The city thrived on income from tourists visiting during the summer months. Its location is in the coastal region in the state of Oregon, with an ocean view and a shore for would be sunbathers and those who enjoy sailing in the summertime. Several of the residents were constructions workers. Unfortunately, when summer was over and because construction jobs had suffered from economical downfalls, the town was on the verge of bankruptcy. The citizens wanted to save the town, so they decided to turn the entire town into a haunted place for Halloween, hoping to generate enough money to save the town from bankruptcy.

In October, during the day, the sun would rise early in the morning, shining so bright, it made the sky appear to be orange in color, not exactly the shade of pumpkins, but close, and casting a mysterious and magical scene over the town.

Now, in the evening when the sun went down, and the moon and the stars came out, the town had somewhat of an eerie look and feel to it. It looked as if a shadow of ghosts had covered the entire town. At night, when the towns people were settled in their homes, they turned on the lights insides, the interior lighting made their homes appear as if they were large mansions, especially with the shades, blinds and curtains closed, their figures appeared as if they were witches and ghosts living in a haunted mansion.

The town’s people were well aware of the eerie look in October; therefore the construction workers got together to create the town's Halloween scene.

HALLOWEEN SCENE THROUGH OUT THE TOWN - They changed all the street lamppost light covers and replaced them with covers shaped like pumpkins, to include changing the light bulbs from standard white to orange. They added different colors of feathers to the lighting posts to make the town look even more ghastly to give the appearance of a spirit that soars just above one's head.

They changed the street signs to read ENTER AT OWN RISK, WRONG WAY, DEAD BODIES AHEAD, BEWARE OF EVIL SPIRITS, and the likes. They changed the traffic lights from the standard red, green and yellow colors to blinking white lights with ghostly looking eyes.

They put environmental friendly material on the shore and in the ocean to give the appearance that people should not venture in those areas. They used foam to make the ocean appear as if it were boiling, hot water flowing to the shore.

THE HALLOWEEN SCENE FOR THE HOUSES - The doors to the houses opened as soon as people knocked on them, emitting a hazy color smoke, almost ghostly like, so eerie until all you could feel was fear. The houses seemed to cast a sense of stillness when you went inside. Inside the house, you hear the sound of water, but not knowing if you actually hear water flowing or falling

Upon entering any of the houses, you hear a voice say, "Upon entering this house in the darkness of this night, you risk your soul to the damnation of burning in hell. If you decide to stay in this house, your soul will be lost to Eternity." As the voice spoke, the ceiling in each house opened up to a sky view as if it was daylight. Then there was silence and the ceiling sky fades away, now it is dark again.

Suddenly, a golden light appears. The light shows there are two witches sitting at a table, with their hands on a crystal ball and two more witches holding a chest filled with treasures of gold and silver. In addition, there are three ghosts surrounding the witches. One ghost's heart appears to be beating outside of his chest, another ghost is holding a pen and the third ghost is holding a large feather with blood dripping from it.

The two witches sitting at the table with the crystal ball, in unison, says, “If you desire to leave this place, confess your secrets to us.” The witches holding the chest filled with treasures, says, "Take what you want from the chest." The ghost whose heart beasts outside his chest say, “If you touch my heart, I will become a mortal soul.” The ghost holding the pen says, "Use this pen and write these words - I believe in ghosts." Third ghost holding the feather says "no, don't use the pen, write the word I believe in ghosts with the blood dripping from this feather and all your dreams will come true."

In addition, the houses were with other amenities such as doors opening and closing, satanic and heavenly music, floors and stairways that automatically move by themselves as well as lights that go on and off spontaneously.

The town’s people were pleased with everything; therefore, they were ready for people to visit the town on Halloween.

The town’s people could not believe the number of visitors that came. Their wish and desire to save their town made their dreams come true. Money abound from so many visitors made the Mayor's heart skip a beat or two and a tear fell from his eye as he announced that Harbor Town Halloween Bash will “forever” be known as the scariest place to visit.
