Poetry is Truth -- and truth connects time and space. If it was true for Plato, it was also true for Shakespeare, and is therefore true for the modern poet. Which, insistently, works the same in the converse. The modern poet does not need new language and form (gimmicks)...what he or she needs is to often revisit man's relationship with omnipotence.

Poets defend one another in the name of being needy, like America throws bombs on territories of other in the name of the other being needy. It’s not defence at all. It is insertion into space which is not yours.

Poetry is really only saying things with deeper, more aware commitment. Treatment of words in such a way that gives the reader desire and space for personal mental, spiritual interaction. In short, poetry is more thoughtful. To be poetic involves heartfelt communion on a creative level that does not exist even with dear, profound prose. Great prose often exhibit strong poetic language.
