When I add water to the birdbath each morning, lots of bees show up to take drinks while birds approvingly tweeting. The little colorful love-birds are the bravest, flapping around me while in my connected process. Water, birds, bees, dogs, fleas...somehow it all works out for the best when each does its small part.

We can't have peace outside if no peace inside. Peace inside doesn't stem from peace outside. Roots in the soul. Give an addict a million dollars and in short time he will be dead or broke again and yet an addict. Such peace is short lived, as those quick blossoming seeds poorly cultivated. Plant in the loving nature of Jesus. And the Father will show us abundance.

With me poetry is about subduing one's conditioned mental reflexes, and allowing purer inert forces to take control of the stylus. In short, poetry should be about transcending the physical into realms of the metaphysical. The heart of great writing is spiritual and not commercial. One must take the "I" out of a work as much as creatively possible.

If you are writing a poem, you are, or should be, writing a play. All poetry is, by the fundamental nature of poetry, dramatic poetry.
