I have some very old photographs, postcards -- the images have changed with age -- someday soon to be all gone -- life is like Polaroids, but faith and love above all, I truly feel in my heart, somehow transcend the lethal memory of time.

" We ascend thy ways that be in our heart, and sing a song of degrees; we glow Inwardly with thy fire, with thy good fire, and we go, because we go Upwards to the Peace Of Jerusalem" - Augustine

I can be faithful, in the bible well read, yet feel profound sorrow and isolation. Transcending comfort gotten from absorption of divine text, we are creatures of inescapable human frailty. That is what separates us from God...and endears us to God.

"In the realm of EchoVerse, where letters transcend their form,
Words become spells, and rhymes take shape like a storm.
With enchantment as my guide, I spin tales divine,
Like turning water to wine, through EchoVerse, words intertwine."

If the perception you assume is too distant from reality, just wasting time contemplating and transcending into foolish reasoning: brace yourself, it's time for a bitter dosage of awareness. As curiously formal as the rose,
the imperious Word grows
until it sheds red-gilded leaves:

She spoke
and her words
were like a ringing echo dying
or like smoke
rising and drifting
while the earth below is spinning.
She awoke
with a cry
from a dream that had no ending,
without hope
or strength to rise,
into hopelessness descending.
And an ache
in her heart
toward that dream, retreating,
left a wake
of small waves
in circles never completing.
('Circe' by Michael R. Burch)

the pale dead.

the gourds of their bodies, like escaping fragrances they rise.
Once they have become a cloud’s mist, sometimes like the rain
they descend;
they appear, sometimes silver like laughter,
to gladden the hearts of men...
('Sometimes the Dead' by Michael R. Burch)

as butterfly wings, batting against nothingness,
seek transcendence ...
('Flight' by Michael R. Burch)

slowly and deliberately we will be obliterated,
from the memory of earth,
from the hearts of people who have held us dearly,
and descended into oblivion"

ah, what happens to a man when he reaches the middle point, stasis turns inwards towards the future; ah, what happens to a man when he reaches crescendo, he drowns in her waves of bravado, each season humbled " Lovejoy-Burton (LadyLabyrinth 3rd Dec 2019)

As the night descends and the breeze cool
Heaven calls as our heart breaks
For our souls to awake so don't let Satan
the snake take you through the wide gate.

"Madness is the first stop on the quest for truth, its symptoms are nothing more than perceptions of what ought to be but isn't ordinarily apparent, to take away the madness leads to regression to blindness, to transcend madness is to comprehend truth."

There are two categories of old people. Those who got old because of what time did to them. And those who got old because of what they did with time. First just got old. Second who spent their time trying to learn things, to understand the world, looked for meaning and did things that they considered meaningful got old too but they took advantage of time in transcendental way and bent it. They learned something and they understood that the knowledge has eternal power.
