Poetry is Truth -- and truth connects time and space. If it was true for Plato, it was also true for Shakespeare, and is therefore true for the modern poet. Which, insistently, works the same in the converse. The modern poet does not need new language and form (gimmicks)...what he or she needs is to often revisit man's relationship with omnipotence.

For sure, we can overwork things, and ourselves...when painting, an important mastery of art is to sense when to stop. I do...but like you am seldom certain. Once risen above the self, it is such a daunting responsibility knowing all that we do also represent elements of God.

Much better if life is more than a habit, remains a burning desire despite the condition of its home. If asked to come back, I will, despite the painful challenges. Duty to self and others. Much I have yet to understand.

When someone says that the poetry of Shakespeare, Shelley, Keats, etc. is boring I don't know what to think of them, any more than I would know what to think of someone who said that love is boring.

Still, I remain. because love in its rawest form, is not gentle. It is a tether that bruises the skin, a chain dressed as devotion, a prayer whispered into nothing with the desperate hope that nothing will answer.

Whenever you feel lonely and a bit down when walking back home, suddenly the need to hum to yourself quietly gives you that unexpected boost despite your hopelessness.

When I say the word 'trolls' I don't mean just the people in public who chuck bricks at windows. Also talking about the ones who do it when you turn around. They have a pencil sharpened that says 'empathetic oath' - it becomes a shiv if you catch them throwing rocks. Turns out sticks and stones absolutely will hurt you, if they're lies about you told to everyone else and they are ignorant enough to believe it. That fades, along with your responsibilities. Liberation through betrayal.
