Many poems are spoiled by saying too much. The reader must be allowed to participate, fill in spaces with his or her own feelings, or the experience becomes a lecture...and I have hated those since childhood

Politicians use privatization to steer blame away from themselves.

“You have to be able to validate yourself as a Poet. There are thousands of poems floating around and not everyone will enjoy your particular poem > neither should you expect them to > that’s OK. But someone out there will resonate or you would not have been called upon to articulate it.” GhairoDanielsQuotes

Quoting God seems nearly impossible, lost in translation, yet He offers His Son, who we find nearly impossible to imitate, yet as we grow closer and closer to the Lord, we find that even given our limitations, people indeed see God in us.

Actions themselves don´t lead us to Salvation, but what we reject can lead us to it. June 2026.

To know who you are is to find your authentic self.
If they want to be like others, then they have lost themselves.
I know who I am and not what they want me to be; for this, I am truly free.

Darkness is there to tell
how shining stars could be.
To unveil the hidden gems
requires the absence of light.

If you want to call yourself a Poet, don’t let anyone speak on your behalf - speak in own poetic voice. Don’t let anybody else speak about your abuse, expériences or healing. You not only give away your poetic license, you give away your power to feel completely. Any trauma will be diluted in this way & your cycles of repressed emotion will remain repressed in fragments. Worse, it will be coloured by someone else calling themselves collaborators. This is a sophisticated form of power usurping.

There is no point in writing poems that are good: they need to be astonishing.

please support my younger poems on PoetrySoup under Briyanna Lawes. I lost access that login but would love for my readers to be able to interpret, constructively critique and give input regarding my voice, growth, & overall journey as an individual who always had writing as not only an outer, but a savour.
Nothing but love, respect, thanks and gratitude for all that Take the time to read my words <3

Those who seek to destroy themselves also seek to destroy others. February 2026.

My poems are not attempts to express myself, they are attempts to express you.

|
Some of my poems have to be my lesser poems. I'm composing those first, to get them out of the way.

|
Any poem involves three people: 1) the person who wrote it, 2) the person who speaks it, and 3) the person who reads it. To confuse the first person with the second person is to guarantee the poem won't be successful, which is why so few successful poems are being written today. The poet's goal instead should be to bring the second and third persons as close together as possible.

|
I hate poems that demand to be liked.

|
A lot of my poems are silly. But people need things that are silly, as there are so many that aren't.

|
Poems by which a poet tries to show the reader what type of person the poet is are not worth much as poetry. To be valuable as poetry, a poem should be something by which the poet tries to show the reader what type of person the reader is.

|
A good poem is addressed to the person who reads it, not to the person who writes it. By this standard, there are practically no good poems being written today.

|
The problems you'd like to have are still problems.

|
I'm not interested in poems that try to make me understand the person who wrote them, I want poems that make me understand myself.

|
Problems of finite complexity can be solved with infinite patience.

|
Do you know your mind's a prison?
Have you been chained by depression and be brutally beaten by thoughts like Cain with thorns piercing your skin?
You haven't grown,
All the problems you've had you've also gotten the solutions easily.
So why do you worry?
A state of PEACE I can now trade for gold.

Even when the sky seems empty, stars are there.

No one can consider themselves truly mature, until they take genuine pleasure in the good fortune of others.

Life is just an illusion, nothing is what it seems, the things you see are not real, for life is only a dream.

Contests exist to assist us towards self-validation. When AI, as algorithm, is involved in contests they become highly suspect in such assistance. All involved in keeping a system of Contest placement in place using artificial intelligence are involved in fallacy & cannot call themselves poets. Poets, like other artists, are to advance authenticity & consciousness, not impede it. Competitive life as part of Dark Ages will therefore be maintained holding humanity back.

The majority of the people who squeeze a trigger do so to exert power not to defend themselves.
