Contest Description
Some children have a comfort blanket, some an imaginary friend and others teddies and soft toys.
In the imagination of the child, these items of comfort are alive and bring them a measure of security.
For this challenge I'd like you to explore the attachment children feel to these things and why. Perhaps you remember something that you had as a child. Or maybe you've noticed with your own children or grandchildren a fondness for a particular teddy or other soft toy.
I have a brown dog soft toy which I was gifted when I was six years old. And she is still something I feel very attached to now even though I'm in my 30s. Why do we do this? This poem you could say is an opportunity to explore psychology.
For an idea of what I'm looking for, I have a poem in my list called More Than A Soft Toy. Please use this as your title. Failure to do so will result in N/A.
As children tend to like tactile things, it is preferred that a soft toy (teddy bear, animal, or other characters) is the subject. However, I will accept entries about comfort blankets too because children still may use blankets for imagination such as pretending it's a cape or the magic carpet from Alladin.
All the best in the contest and I look forward to reading your takes on this topic. Thanking you again in advance for the time and effort the entrants put into their poems for these tasks.
