UPDATED BIOGRAPHY - May 2023

I started writing poems in 2011 and find it an excellent hobby. I joined this site in 2015.

Where I live is in France, but I am English. I enjoy noticing the contrasts between the two countries in terms of sociology. There are quite a few - subtle ones for the most part.

I have (by March, 2023) set up over 100 Poetry Contests for you all.

My poetic philosophy are these -

Understatement in poetry gives the readers more to think about than overstatement.

Tell, rather than show. It's far more intellectual.

Two Stanza Optimism

I am finding my contest "Unrest of Spirit" is telling me something grand.

Art usually makes us wait for anything unpleasant to turn out all right, for instance poetry or plays can hold out a long time for any good news in order to increase drama. We therefore form a notion that things in our lives are going to get a lot worse before they get better.

Let us all think of our life events as being in two stanzas: troubles won't stick around for long.
