Hi! I'm Sam. I wrote my first poem at the age of 7. I shared that particular delightful piece on my first blog post dated 2/3/24. I love words! I can't say that enough... I vibe to creating poems and I can't think of a time that I didn't feel that way.. One would think as much as words have injured me in my life-time that I would hate words but I don't. I respect their power and am in awe of the beauty they can inspire. Well, this is me. I hope you'll read and enjoy my poems and please if you will, buy my new book, now available at:

Aren't words AMAZING?

I create. And it's more than just
words that rhyme, if I could I'd
write all the time.

I can make words fly or crawl
beg her back, amuse you all.

I'd build ships that sail the ocean
or fly up to the moon. I'd help you
feel the wind or help you hear
the greeting of the loons.

I create. And it's more than just
words that rhyme, if I could I'd
write all the time.

I have always loved words! Even when some of them have cleaved me through and through. But  think of what can be done with words for the good.....Now *THAT* is POWERFUL!! Kind words could stop wars, yanno? *big grin* So as you can see I'm a BIG fan of words.

When I was little my vocabulary for my age then was very advanced and my imagination was very, very active. *smiles* The first time I realized rhyming was fun was when I started writing poems. The first poem I ever wrote went a little something like this:

Clyde, Oh Clyde

Oh Poor Clyde died

He took a bath in Comet™ and Tide™

Shriveled and dried

Poor Clyde died.

The next week my mother put me into therapy. *laughs*

I only remember two poems that I wrote before age 20, the others were discarded along with my painful youth. Now I write for fun mainly. Being retired gives one a lot of time to write although I admit to being very ill disciplined at writing daily. Maybe having a blog finally will help. *winks*

Yes, and to expound, Sam, letters, words, and sentences are the intellectual genome of humanity. We are biologically aligned with language - written and spoken. It’s truly amazing.

It is somewhat remarkable that, while we all have access to the same set of words, some are able to arrange them in such a way that something beautiful is born. It's a gift
