I’m Regina Shepherd (maiden name), Hill, Riddle - McIntosh… but I’ve only had things published under my names – Regina Hill and Regina Riddle and Regina McIntosh, who I am currently. I enjoy writing and hope to write something that shares my heartfelt joy in the Lord. I love God above all else and want to please Him above all else. I hope to write more Christian original poetry and have other ideas which include the possibility of writing something surrounding my home, the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina and all the Appalachia that I love.

I have poems published here on Poetry Soup and many of my poems have been published by Blue Mountain Arts (SPS Studios) in their calendars, anthologies and greeting cards. I’ve also had poems published in the magazines True Love and True Romance (if I’m recalling the names right). I’ve had a few essays and articles published (mostly by regional magazines like Our State) and – I haven’t tried to have too many things published for a few years. I do hope to submit some of my writings as time allows.

Most recently, my poems appear each month in Blue Ridge Christian News, a local paper for Christians and I am currently working on devotionals that will possibly be published in early 2024.

I work full time at the Altec, a factory that makes truck beds for different companys - tree trimming companies, electric companies, etc... so write what I can during my spare time. I believe God inspires me to write and I hope to, as I’ve already said, write things that provide praise and worship for Him. Jesus is my everything. After Jesus, I love my husband, Morris, my Mama, and all my family, my dogs, nature, reading (especially the Bible and words by some great preachers like Spurgeon and A.W. Tozer) writing and currently love canning home grown veggies. I also enjoy cooking, camping and my favorite holiday is, naturally, Christmas!!!

Loved and Lost contest

I finalized my last contest and it told me 10 emails were sent, but I can't see the results myself and several others have emailed me saying they can't see the results. Since I never know who I've chosen, but only the poem I choose - I don't know who won myself. I emailed Poetry Soup for help in showing the results but they haven't gotten back to me. If anyone knows of anything I can do to make the results show up, let me know.

Just read your blog--you may disregard my soupmail--Team PS Admin will eventuate a response, until then--here's what you may do; Go to your contest/edit page, Proceed to the bottomed gray area where in large print it states 'Finalize Contest', as your contest remains closed, the 'yes' should be highlighted, so then you just click 'no', Then go to 'All Poems' column and verify the 10 chosen/25 not--then click update, Go to 'Round One' and that should be blank with nothing to update, Then go to 'Round Two', your 10 will be ready on top and the 25 below will be shaded, verify their placing before clicking update, Then go to 'Round Three', sort them out, then 'Finalize and Close Contest'.

Thanks to my IT son who was a grad from Stanford and had figured this out when it happened to me--I believe that another souper?? may also have contributed along these lines.

Forgot to mention after clicking 'no' under 'Finalize Contest' click update before moving onward. This initial act is your acknowledgment to the system that you're reopening the contest to be judged and finalized.
