When the Heart Is Open

When the heart is open
And truth is in the eye
The mind depletes emotion's grip
Seeking reasons why

Thinking now of only you
Remembering good and bad
Knowing that you felt the love
I gave you all I had

When all years have blossomed
An the future is but a light
When laying still, almost in dream
Facing a dark long night

When, oh when, try to recall
The time and place, the feel
Never say if only I, could make this again, real

It was good, it was very good
As I lay upon warm earth
The path, the road, the way I chose
Was it best...one never knows

With shallow breathe and moisten eyes
The flashes of life, pass by
The only peace that comforting
Is the infinite depth of the sky
