Anxiety: Rewrite from my free verse

I couldn’t shake this feeling, so surreal,
In a dark tunnel, air begins to steal.
With the air, the light fades away,
Choking, gasping, clawing, I sway.
It’s not a tunnel, it’s water, I sink,
Slowly slipping, on the brink.
Pulling, struggling, to rise above,
A siren sounds, am I losing love?
Can’t breathe, can’t move, can’t think, can’t fight,
It’s not a siren, just a constant plight.
Beep, beep, beep, thump, thump, thump,
The beep fades, the thump a gentle bump.
A slow glow of light, above my head,
Then the realization, I’m not dead.
