Grief

The dark grief comes now
Stand in pain, sit in sorrow
Tomorrow is new

Anxiety Too

The cold stifle hits
down I go to the deep pits
rise I will again

Thoughtfulness

Sitting here beneath the partial moon,
is it time to set out, or is it too soon,
Should I fan the fires of my contemplative coal,
as I ponder the thoughts of my soul.
Watching the stars race, in endless mystery,
Viewing the playback of my history.
How I miss her companionship, her time, her love,
Yet she’s return to the father up above.
What do I do with the rest of my life,
When there is a hole that was filled by my wife.
Love lost love gained through the racing of my brain,
you think too much some might say; “No” I shout as my refrain.
Thoughtfulness and prayer will guide my pace,
for this life, it is not a race.

No Status Quo

The world is rumbling
our society is crumbling.
The winds are blowing
the Lord’s power is showing.
The fire rages the smoke pollutes
it’s his power without refute.

Tides raise and recede
another day there is still need.
The strength of our human condition
will struggle and grow from this rendition.
We will do more than revive
and even more than survive.

Living to grow strong
learning to right our wrongs.
Not settling for the times of yester year
for this I, must make absolutely clear.
I’ll accept no status quo,
If that’s what you offer, then my answer is no.

In this world of sublime,
that warns of the end of time.
I will fight for the hope of love anew
and struggle for my hearts renew.
This, is the life that I strive for
know this, as I knock at your door.

Widowed Refrain

Quietly the nights pass
Sleep not the Widowed refrain
Mind filled with regrets

Hope

Is it all gone now?
Hear Birds sing, the cats meow
No, not gone at all

Contentment

As the night disappears from the stary sky,
I wonder what emotion are nigh,
It cannot be joy because it’s absent.
Alas it is satisfaction, it came and went
For now I seem content in my heart
As it will be a new start.
Is it enough who will say?
For one life to live and one price to pay.
For the future holds new joy, new sorrow
And with that sorrow, there is always tomorrow
To pick up the pieces and move through rebuff
As my life it is enough.

Journey

Teach me again not to fear,
beyond there is very near.
Joy once felt is a blink away
It can be found in most every day.
I miss that which is lost,
the pain of grief was the cost,
of the joy, I use to feel,
alas, it was worth the kneel.
Though the future is not known,
sacrifice of fear will be shown.
Through the darkest depths of grief,
I have emerged with a sigh of relief.
The guilt once found through the travel,
it fought with me through many a battle.
Without such blocks, I shall climb,
though each trigger shall remind,
Of that which is no more.
I will travel from shore to shore,
because in this life there is ever more.
Hope is not lost from missing tenderness,
the sweet caress of her finger tips,
No, Hope is not lost I shall find love again,
Someone to stick through thick and thin.
Whether it be someone Short or tall
I will learn to love them for after all,
It is through these relationships found anew,
that you can you can find happiness too.

Missing You

Evolving, ever changing, my life becomes my own,
the we, is now just me, and I am so alone.
We were just getting to the good parts,
why did it have to take my heart?
As I meander on this path of grief,
there are days, that lack clear relief.
Those days I focus within, instead of without,
I will prevail for that there is no doubt.

The days that I ponder you and read your words,
It’s almost like you can be heard.
The zing of your witty remarks,
Or the times walking in the park.
Your favorite flower was a rose,
I used to buy you many of those.
Just to see the smile they would bear,
Now I just wish that you were here.

Wax and Wane

Ever positive, ever growing,
The emotions will keep flowing
The flit of a bird,
The sound that is heard,
The senses rejoice
Joined in one voice
One call, One chorus
heard throughout the forest.
As the summer comes to a close
Sitting there sunning in repose.
Marveling at life’s great changes
The things that it rearranges
The life that is wrought
from the battles that were fought.
The strike of the barb
The rend of the heart
The willing retort
The retreat to pillowed forts
But the strength from within
A new beginning to begin.
New heights to climb
A new time to shine.
Enjoy the life that is given
As that’s the one worth living.
