Pendulum Swings

i wrote this poem in 2007, just found it on Myspace:

I named it:

*****************************Believe**************************************

As I strive to reach for the sky,
I come across many people that prefer to lie.

They make up stories, and call people names and think this will distract the world from their many shames.

They try to hide there deepest secret,
To make it so no one will hear it.

And then, back and forth the pendulum swings.
Bringing hope and despair to those people on the whim.

Unable to decide what life to live,
Unsure of what they could possibly give.

To stop the process from starting again,
To try save another from there almost certain pain.

Of lying and cheating and telling only lies,
Everyone they know starting to despise.

The life they lived the life lied,
Not moving forward not taking life's ride.

Of showing the world there true identity,
Becoming nothing more, than an Entity.

I figured out the special place, where you
Alone can stop time and space.

It rests with our heart and soul, a place
Where a real heaven, can and shall be whole.

No reason in which someone may cry, it may
Be because religion, has told us a lie.

They told us Jesus came to save our well being.

Instead what happened was it left us needing. Some
Hope to pray to ask a high-power

For those who get no response, begin to grow sour.

People seem to forget to say, I can help myself, I
Don't need to follow religions way.

People should say, I can do this I know I can, and
In doing so I shall and will, create my own divine plan.

We need to spare people from their short life span, and
Show them if they believe they will they can.

Live a life how it's meant to be, and that is of course
Living free.

To not give up, and think they have nothing left. To want
To take another breath, to open up there eyes to see, what
Life has to offer for them and me.

To stand up, and stand tall, before they can release
There body and eventually there soul.

To fight for what is truly theirs, a life with only
Happiness, and no despairs.

Have no more worries, doubts, or cares. To not have
To worry about saying their daily prayers.

To not look at the sky above, waiting for someone to
Come and show them love.

To realize it's within them already, that if they
Believe in their selves they will be ready.

To open up a new special place, that will
Be there ready to embrace.

Their hopes, their dreams, their desires and goals,
Everything that helps us, to build and grow our souls.

Till that one day, when the time is truly right.
To have no need to put up a fight, to look within and find
Your soul, to know that you are truly, and deeply 100% whole.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
