The Valley Of Loss

She’s walking through a valley of deep loss.
Their marriage lasted over forty years.
The toughest trial she has come across.
His death is mourned with strong, cascading tears
that flow the most when evening’s darkness nears.

Immersed in sorrow, it is hard to pray.
She kneels down because she knows she should.
Through faith she finally finds strength to say
such truthful words she did not think she could.
“Even in the valley, God is still good!”

Sometimes it is the only true thing to hang on to. God doesn't mind a wet shoulder.
