Janet's Hope

The world ended suddenly on Victory Tuesday
A plague came and took all of the people away
It killed Big Brother when he stopped to sneeze
Who knew that death came in floating on the breeze

I wander alone, among the bloated, rotting dead
Stench, corpses and bodies, everywhere I tread
I live at the Ministry of Plenty, just to survive
I desperately hope I am not the last person alive

Why am I alive? I must be somehow immune
To the sickness that caused Oceania's doom
I used to work at Pornosec, my name is Janet
Living and surviving on this lonely, lifeless planet

Congrats on your placement John. Poor Janet. Is she blessed or cursed? Reminds me of a Twilight zone episode
