I Miss Your Skin

?
I miss you everyday
Your conversations were like a second skin I wore
protecting me from the cruelty of mankind
with your sweet promises
of a brighter future

together we were supposed to build that future
feed the hungry and house the homeless
feed them love and compassion
spoon sanguinity into empty mouths
leave a taste sweet as honey
-I assume sanguinity tastes like honey

we would feed the hungry
a big bite of hope
we would house the homeless
in a building of
dreams and love

But you left me
my heart hungry and wondering
which house I could call home
now that I was alone

Beautiful Alieana. I especially like the first stanza.
