Five Years

The opening day I remember clearly.
The last, I will treasure dearly.
My last year was the worst
I wish I could travel to the past.
The happy faces from the first,
To the sobbing tears of the last.
Today, I opened the door to the future
And close the door to the past!

Profound, positive and nostalgic. I like the form, the rhyme scheme, and the title and your perfect closing line.
