Flowing River - I Became
Flowing river - I became...!
'O' friend! you stood your ground, a rock in the riverbed;
sauntered, stuttered, stumbled and stopped for good.
I transformed, into waters and became one in one with it,
a flowing river, discovered myself, perfectly fit - well knit!
I meandered, I ran and I strode over - moved on and on;
flowed under, down the falls - continuing in ways shown!
Ran down the slopes, cleaving and causing a deep gorge;
breaching walls - attempts persistently made to dislodge!
Moved on mingling and manoeuvring, just unstoppable,
I refused to, when all around me - anxiety was palpable!
The Sun quenched it's thirst from me - I just vaporised;
and the heavens poured in more, never felt pressurised!
The earth and it's offsprings - gulped in greed and tore!
as ever, always keeping only their needs alone in fore.
Breaking the barriers many a times - making new ways,
left it for time to decide, as I went by, in the way it paves!
Rode rough and shoddy rides - scarring deeper below,
took it in the stride - as it definitely did help me mellow!
Whenever, I was cornered or caught - I turned a puddle,
I was a breeding ground for many a questionable riddle!
I'm that flowing waters and I choose to be one - you see!
have none else but me to fend for and to set myself free!
There were other buried rocks - often surfaced aground,
'stumbling' - time to skirt around or go over that mound!
Some had dug deeper, some rolled along for a short while,
brushing all aside, I scattered them - didn't let any to pile!
Those that rolled on, turned pebble - chose a different path,
stayed on longer to see various shades of seasons' wrath!
Rotund, smooth, even glossy as they changed their shape,
displaying colour and texture - a beauty that left us agape!
Did all roughing-up and knocks make it harder at the core,
as it eroded and corroded - taking forms that we all adore?
Some cracked and broke with fragments thrown all around,
resisting every change, will remain embedded - thus bound!
I shall stay course, find or make my own to set myself free,
as I'm that flowing river - that will make way to reach my Sea!
