Wounded Angel
I have known you now
For just a short time
Yet I feel I have known you forever.
I have made my choice to pursue happiness
Yet the fear of the past is always there
To haunt me in my waking hours
And those of my subconscious.
I try not to think of him
Just trying to forget the times
I was beaten and abused.
When I think of him
Then I think of you and the light you bring to my day
The clouds are gone and the air blows the scent
Of roses my way.
He hurt me as you will not
And together we can bring hope
To a new and sunny day.
You have healed
A Wounded Angel.
