KNOWING YOU

You do not or will ever love me
The way I would like for you to love me
Your heart holds memories of another
In your pain of forgetting her
You need only to remember
How transitional your life must be now
When you hold me it feels like
There is some twilight of love or the need for love
I can love you knowing when true time
Takes over you will be gone
I'll wait until that time comes
Why because I love you
Even if it is only the act of wanting love
You are the one I want
You are the one I need
Just by knowing you for a short time
How enriching my life has become
I know you are the man I dreamed of all my life
More than that I know you are just a dream
How real is this fantasy for me
I can only thank you for letting me know
You do exist.

A poem to which many can no doubt relate. I enjoyed reading it. Brings up some memories for me too. Thanks for sharing.
