I MISS MY MUM

From the day you went to heaven
Nothing would ever be the same
The only thing I don't miss
Is seeing you in pain
I miss being able to call you
Heaven should have a direct line
Just to be able to hear your voice
And to know you're doing fine
I miss our shopping adventures
We'd be gone all of the day
Sometimes returnng empty handed
Same day next week you'd say
I miss your blueberry muffins
And the deserts you used to make
I remember as a little child
All the cakes you'd decorate
I miss the advice you'd give to me
And the explainations as to why
Sometimes I'd be rather skeptical
And you'd say 'just give it a try'
I miss so many things about you
There's nothing too insignifcent or small
Everything you said and everything you done
I just couldn't list them all
When to heaven they took you
My heart not broke it tore
And each and every day that passes
Has me missing you more and more

I've really been enjoying your poem and the emotions and imagery were so vivid that i could easily picture them as beautiful illustration. I'm a commission-based manga/webtoon artist, and I'd love to help bring your story to life if you're ever interested. Feel free to reach out at gm@il : akiracomicart2@ or on inst@ akiraa_artly

A beautiful tribute to your mum. I wrote a poem (on Poetry Soup) called My Mother in law. I miss her so much. We had a special bond.
