The Best Is Yet To Come

The darkest place I have ever been,
The thoughts I had in mind,
I never thought I’d see this day,
And they say love is blind…

There are no words that I can say,
To show my gratitude,
For in the past, there were things,
That came out as being rude…

A friendship that can’t be broken,
A page that can be torn,
A book that has been read,
The cover totally worn,

You picked it up and wiped it off,
You read it once again,
You brought to it the beauty,
That it held within…

Now today, the covers gone,
The pages worn and shred,
What we shared will never die,
Even though we fled…

One more thing before I go,
Your book to me is cherished,
The story is one I can’t forget,
The book will never perish…
