Savannah Autumn

Summer in Savannah
Holds on to languid days for dear life
She refuses to fade quietly into the dark and cold
And lights up autumn days with the warm
Clinging embrace of an old lover
Who knows breaking up is the right thing to do
But won’t.

Many times, I have traveled I-95 between Florida and New Jersey. I have passed close to Savannah, Georgia, but have never stayed there for any long periods of time. One of these days, I would like to stop there and take it all in. Your poem appears as an invitation to visit that nice Georgia city.
