Pride

Pride is that feeling
That feeling deep inside
When you can be proud of who you are
Having nothing to hide

Being gay is a challenge
The names you are called can cut like a knife
The judgement bestowed upon you
Can sometime feel as if it's ruining your life

Can't we just all get along
Accepting one another
For who we are
Not letting hate push us back far

Letting our differences clash
We are not the same
We have a different sexual orientation
We see and experience life looking through a different frame

Religion is sometimes a factor
It can divide us you see
We are all God's children
Can't we just let one another be

Be in peace, loving one another, loving all
Standing up tall for what I believe
Love and acceptance is all I want to receive

Not having to lie, not having to hide
Not having to ride alone on the back seat
of life
On that long bumpy ride

Being who we were born to be
Being genuine, being real, being free

I am me
I have Pride
To be proud of who I am
Deep down inside
