Patricia

I passed by your exit today
I wanted to come by
I miss you

You are my best friend
You are my pal
You are a light

Hadn't heard from you in a while
Hadn't laughed out loud
Hadn't heard you smile

Why did you not call
Why did you not say goodbye
Why did you have to get sick

I picked up my phone
I put in your number
I got no reply

You were gone
You left me alone
You had died

At first I didn't believe it
At least someone should have called
At least you are no longer suffering

Wrote your parents a letter today
Wrote about our friendship
Wrote that I was sorry for their loss

One day I might send it to them
One day I might stop missing you
One day I will see you again in Heaven

I miss my best friend
I miss my pal
I miss you Patricia

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

I love this. The thought, the inspiration, the emotion is not forced, but is just welcomed and expressed. I love the spaces in between. However, Par 3, line 2, you might want to check it again...maybe "seen" instead of "heard"? Let me know, I 'll reverse my comment. Welcome to PoetrySoup, Steven. :D Kim Patrice
