The Promise

Take a listen to the laughter of the stars
As their twinkling brighten into daylight
After a night of braving a dark veil
It's the promise of a fresh start

Listen to the sighs of the waking sun
As it parts away the curtains of darkness
Its' rays tenderly peeping from the horizons
It's the promise of a beautiful day in the making

Listen to the effortless whispers of the wind
As it drives the chill away from dawn
Swaying the trees gently to wake them up
It's the promise of a joyous day ahead

Listen to the melodious song of the birds
As they sweetly call out for each other
Musically singing to a new day
It is the promise of hope

Listen to the tapping of the ants
As they ready to go out and eke
Unanimously united for a noble course
It is the promise of bounty

Listen to the cry of the skies
As the rain falls down steadily
After sagging with pregnant clouds
It is the promise of a cleansing

Listen to the slapping of the waters
As the river purposefully snakes it way
Against the odds of rocks and debris
It is the promise of a peaceful rest

Listen to the breathing of the seedlings
As they persistently stretch off the ground
After a long season of hibernation
It is the promise of a rebirth

Listen to the chatter of the children
As they innocently get to play
Watching out for each other
It is the promise of solidarity

Listen to the rhythm of the heart
As it pumps life through you
Even with all the odds you face
It is the promise of survival
