Why Are You Okay?
Why are you okay when I'm not there?
Why are you okay while I still care?
You promised it would always be me.
How was I supposed to know you'd leave?
Why are you okay when you broke me?
Why are you okay while I'm still coping?
You told me my fears were all in my head.
How was I supposed to know you'd fulfill them instead?
Why are you okay when we're over?
Why are you okay while I seek closure?
You told me you'd love me and that's how you'd always feel.
How was I supposed to know I'd be alone trying to heal?
Why are you okay if you meant what you said?
Why are you okay when this is truly the end?
Did you really lie
all this time?
Did you ever care or love me?
Did you even find me pretty?
Or was I nothing more to you than a phase,
a big joke, filled with false "forevers" and "always"?
You're evil or you're a liar
or a walking ball of fire,
bringing down my world
and not even concerned.
Why are you okay?
