If I'M Not There I'M On the Way

You can see it gets cloudy when its about to rain
You can tell when its near morning in the country
When you here the birds sing
When you here something funny don't you just have to laugh
As long as you can keep track of your money
You don't have to be a whiz in math

And also it's almost a sure thing
When my baby calls I got the phone off the hook before it rings
I've got my shoes shined
Quite a few quarters and plenty of dimes
It only comes once in a thousand life times
That a boy can find a girl who's good byes are sweeter than most hellos'

I know the clock's hour
Grew up on the same block as the place
Honey you don't never have to say come on
Because you know
If I'm not there I'm on my way
