The Coal-Est.Hot Item

(Inspired by the genius of Ms. Norey Bailey. Please check her out )

Soulful sista
Strolling in her full spirited stride
Just couldn't hide
From my heart's searching eye's
that I swore I
wouldn't allow to be blinded by this mindless modern day luv no more
Until that particular half second
I wanted to run-------grab her by the hands!!!!!!
AND......
take her down to see the Reverend

I didn't have any spare time that was to be wasted
Wanted to recycle my trashy reputatation
Strip
Down My image Un-til- it was raw

So that.....
It could be steamed and not fried
BLESSED
Not viciously devoured
Hope that I'm a genourous helping
That'll nurture your body and soul
and in no way be unhealthy
One who'd always fill you up, never leave you empty
Be your top and bottom money maker and not once will you ever have to pimp me

Easy to open
Hard to tear apart
I play a game thats not a game & i trump any Player's card
I'm what the mighty-dollar can't buy
And I'm the same thing that stores just don't sale

At the Corner Store

Man on the side-walk
Been sad so long
That the tears
Can't find
Work
In his eyes

Who You Wit

Walking in the rain
Can be looked at
And can be easily called
One of the most saddest thangs
But paint a nice looking
Easy on the eyes somebody
In that frame
Walking with ya right by your side

And good God almighty!!!
The feelings of the picture change

And Man!! It wouldn't matter if you heard the word
That Michael has put the soul back in his sound
Got his nose fixed back round
Even got his skin turned back to it's original beautiful brown
Giving shows all around
And this night only he'll be in your town!!
   -------- --- No not at all ----------------
Cause your baby is running a little late
And ain't made it home
Even if it means staying awake all night long
You'd rather wait right there by the phone

          Girl's night out
On a n easy Friday evening
      With all the drinks
& Good Eatings
At the spot where
   The single,rich, handsome jocks
From the city teams are meeting
      Sounds like such a bore
         Compared
To having dinner well done and prepared
For your tired-hungry-"Boo"
As soon as he walks
             Through the door
Sometimes...
               Just Sometimes......
It's not how you doing
Or when you're doing
Or even where you doing
It's simply_________< When you get right down 2 it
                  About Who "You" wit

Getting Next To Me Pt.1

I was on the other line
 Chit-Chatting
With a close homey of mine
About football and wrestling
Bin-Laden and Bush
After a half hour
I told him that I'll get back
Cause I had to wash
And cook
As soon as I
Was About to put the phone on the hook____---""'Bleepp!"""

I'M Your Blues Man

I'm on stage
Sweating
Voice tonging the drums
My screams are performing porn with the horns
Sexing the strings
Necking the rhythm section
Grooving on the spot
Getting hotter than hot
Rolling my hips while the lights are on top of me
Snapping my fingers like a deep fryer be poppin' grease

All the fellas wanna shake my hand
All the ladies want to be in my palm like a fortune teller's grammar
The smoke filled room is filled with chairs but everbody just choose to stand up
Tapping their feet
Clapping their hands after they've captured the beat

 FEELING GOOD!!!
That i'm a man that just so happens to understand
That the boss been working you a little too hard
Or that I done went through too much hell to find heaven in you
I don't mind turning you a-loose
But I just can't let ya get too far
Don't be nervous
Just let
Go of your worries
Cause they don't make good pets
And you can never tell when and if they're coming back again
But you know that the good times will just pick up and go
I don't need to see no scholars or doctors when I'm running a fever with a sore
throat
All I need is a bottle of vodka or gin and peppermint for the common cold
Either I'm not your preacher, teacher, doctor,or healer or I'm all of the above

Turn on your radio,play a tape,spin a record,put on a cd,turn on your TV or
You might be lucky enough to come and see me down at the club
 HEy hEy,
                              "I'm Your Blues Man"

A Piece of the Night

When the sun comes
It'll be rising while I'm sinking
Actually I'm realizing that the moon is more likable to my thinking
It's out when the day is at it's coolest
When the fools get even more foolish
Or when the good gets better
To whom ever however
They choose to do their thing may midnight be as good to you
as it's been to me

It's made the meanest girl just that much more sweeter
Carried a deep conversation even deeper
Even when my sleepy eyes were burning
We kept on talking on the telephone
Reaching out right beneath the stars
What better way to escape
When you don't even have a car?

Lady Lady Lady

Sweet talk
Walk
Full of
Sugar
Not even
A cat with the
4 x 4 Chevrolet
With a V8
Grade A game
Could pull her
Unless the arrest
Was backed
By a legitimately
Vivid spirit
Handling his business on a mission of forever copping infinitive knowledge
Constantly busting and handcuffing ignorance
She's one
Of the last
From a long lost
Tribe
Grew up with
Both
Mom and a Dad
That was a good man
To a damn good wife

Lady! Lady!!
 Lady!!!

Where have you been?
Tell me you'll slow down
Let me catch up
When
Your schedule allows an opening
That'll be quite
Inviting
I promise to keep the conversation light
Precise to your liking
Down to Earth
But in no way dirty
Cause lady you move me
While I'm standing still

 Lady Lady

Who can turn every ghetto here into paradise

Lady- Lady-Lady
I' m foreal
Because I know I'm right

Need Some Company

So many people in here
But still
You're alone
Must be in some way better than home
Still
The TV shows what can be real
I don't wanna be aggressive
But your pull infected
Me and my instincts
Like a sweet disease

NOW WAIT NOW!!
please!!!!!

I'm sure you have a cure an anti-venom so to speak
Restore my heartbeat back to it's normal pace
I beg you miss
Don't think I'm full of it
Cause I speak quickandawfullyslick
Off hand I'll let you know it
I'm a poet
Born one going to die as one of "thee" one's
I write to en light everyday
Though I want the chance to write it for a Someone.......
If I may
I want to be paid
But my only charge to you tonite is a smile to replace
That frown on your face Right?
If you smoke I'm going to pull out the fire
If you drink
Think of me as the ice cubes that makes it cool to sip
that tickles your lips
Excuse me, but, Is someone else sitting here?

If not can I join the table and bathe in your presence
Wash the stranger's mystique off
Let you see me as I am while we talk
Need some company?
Be mine at least ....
If I can't be yours

Bubble Gum Bubble Gum

Candy was money
 !0 speeds
  Were motorcycles
    Foreplay
was when you'd run away and hide
But would always let me find you
Your hello's were my new morning sun
And your goodbye's tucked me in
When I wasn't really trying to say goodnight
     To a beautiful young one
That was older than me then
I wanted you to be my woman
But you just wanted us to be friends
I was always cute
But you never said I was handsome
Kinda crazy how we knew about the pains and troubles
And things when we had never had none
As Long as we had Bubble Gum Bubble Gum

Love For Love

Last night I slept hard but I couldn't rest
Different scenes in my dreams of a woman I'd never met kept my pillows wet with
sweat
At best theres no description to label this Egyptian
Whose appearances were foreign and mystical
I had to up-grade my lyrical story
Tell a tale of a female that could not bore me
Sky-rocketed my forgotten neglected levels of passion
Had me blushing and laughing
No joke though
This chick was serious very thorough when working her mojo
Throuh roots that were nurtured and grew
In branches of
________________________________________Soul____________
Wisdom___________ and ______________Character
The more she told me The more I found myself asking her
Confoforted by her touch
Dismissing all suspicions
Yet I remained to be intrigued by her shere intensity
I'm with the woman I love
But, This one, I believe was meant for me
Scenary un etched in my lifetime but forever held in memory
In her presence wishes were granted
But I fantasized of a true encounter on Earth or on a not so distant planet
I fantasized of a true encounter in the near future
In the form of de'javu
Maybe mainly because I wanted to trade love for love
