Intrinsic Fear

Intrinsic Fear

I crossed the old threshold
This new familiar home
The days turned into night
I turned to flight not fight
Then I heard his voice, a voice
From long ago…

Who knew you were he
I never was so bold
When faced with disgrace
Of the intrinsic fear of old

His voice told me to stay
To learn his gift of sway
It came as a surprise
When I looked into his eyes
And saw a girl, a girl from
Long ago…

I tried the vision to go
But I didn’t want her to know
The truth that stung her eyes
When we fell from ancient skies
I thought we cried a long,
Long time ago…
