Canalopes

we just ate
i didn't like it
most of it
was in the
carry out box.

well, are we
hungry again
i said after about
15 miniutes of
riding?

he did the side
squint and his
lips snuck the
slightest upturn

whatta ya mean
we just ate in
the most expensive
place in town.

i can't help it
i said with a little
push in my voice
plus sort of a whine

o.k., he wheeled into
a grocery store, got
out and brought
me
a
canalope.

now that is a real man!
