Shades of Black and Grey

Nights tend to stretch out,

The cold begins to slowly creep.

No ways to scream or shout,

As the darkness begins to seep.

Here at the very edge,

Darkness prevails.

A silent game,

As a cry of hope fails.

To ignore the cry for help,

Nothing could ever be felt.

No aid would ever come,

As all was said and done.

Promises would be broken,

As the sky turns grey.

All would be taken,

As there was nothing left to say.

To be strong and might,

Nothing could be more wrong,

As nothing would ever be right.

As all disappears,

Even light.
