Poetry

Old flames, old passions never really die,
I can hear the voices speak,
Where have you been?
What made you stay away?
My passion seems to be overcoming my fear,
staying away hurts me so badly,
The voices keep asking me,
Why have you disowned us,
Fear grips my spin,
A thousand swords piecing my heart,
I feel lost and alone in this cycle of life,
Has my soul been lost and frozen in this cold world,
It’s been years since I wrote one more piece,
Today my pieces will jell together,
Like butter and paste,
One more time let the piece of paper and pen become my weapon,
Welcome back to poetry.

A very emotional write, Mash, and yes, writing is such a wonderful outlet for some of us. It can soothe and it can kill. Nothing is so strong as the quill.

A poet may rest his pen, but it will always return... so many things to say and put on paper.. Great poem Mash..

So very sad. I see that you have been on hiatus for several years. Welcome back to you and your muse!! ~Judy
