On the outside
she appears to be perfect
physically you see no flaws
you've convinced yourself "she must be perfect"
she holds a tale,
dark, lonely, and lost
a ship continues to sail
the waves,
some strong
some weak
some good
pushing towards progress
others knocking her back
causing a feeling of defeat she prays for sunny days
her journey she aims to complete
days are short
the nights are long
she searches for the end
an end
a possible new beginning
clouds blur her vision and the pain takes over again
her guide
a beautiful bright star in the sky
she prays it continues to shine
for without it,
she remains lost
continuous painful times
she has what she needs to call for help
in a dark world
with no one to trust
she'd much rather save herself
tears fall
they bring her no surprise
for these are the same salty tears that fall
from sunset to sunrise
the ship is sturdy
and she is strong
no turning back
she allows the waves to carry her along
the beautiful and peaceful sea
now rocks ever so violently
fear strikes lights in the sky
her hopes of this storm ending
quickly begin to die
will she be lost forever or will she soon find
her way?
she continues on and prays for that day..
that day that the sun will shine
without a single cloud in the sky
the day her ship receives the proper care
and any and all flaws are not just covered up
but restored and repaired
for now,
she continues to rock with the sea,
back, forth, left, and right
trusting that God
that bright light in the dark sky
will guide her to where she deserves to be
