Le Chanson Vrai

Shifting dirt
Beneath my feet
Solid stance
Poised, ready
The wind picks up
Caresses my face
Waiting, waiting
Till its just right
The sun to my back
Eyes focused
Arm steady
Feeling for the moment
Till its just right
A lull in the breeze
The moment has come
Bring up, pull back
Straight along, lined up right
Every muscle taught
Like the string, I'm steady
Release, it sings
As the target is met
Satisfaction floods
The air vibrates with power
The bow still hums
As pleased as I am
To let loose an arrow
Feeling the rush
Again and again
One with the wood
And string and steel
With the ground at my feet
Tuned in to every sound
Slightest shift of the air
Feeling everything
Knowing when to strike
Like an old friend
The wood is molded to my grip
Familiar with each other
A perfect fit, complete and
whole
